IWTA HQ Official Announcement

Subject: Visitor Training Policy

Applies to: Hong Kong Headquarters, Regional Branch Headquarters, and all Regional Branch Schools

Dear Members,

To ensure the instructional integrity and highest standards of the International WingTsun Association (IWTA) and the Leung Ting WingTsun system, IWTA HK Headquarters is issuing an official update to our visitor training policy for training at HK Headquarters or at any branch school outside a practitioner’s usual home school.

These protocols are designed to foster global respect and connection across all schools, while keeping our doors open to dedicated practitioners.

1. Active IWTA Members:

• Visits & Training at another branch within the same country: All active members wishing to visit another IWTA branch school within the same country simply need written approval (e.g. email/text) from their home school instructor (i.e. Sifu) and to receive confirmation from the host school before visiting.

• Visits & Training at a branch school in another country: All active members looking to train at Hong Kong Headquarters, or at another IWTA branch school outside of their usual country, please obtain written email approval from your home school’s instructor (i.e. Sifu) and from the HQ of your regional branch before visiting. Visits are subject to review. Upon approval, your regional HQ will contact the host regional branch HQ for consent and will provide further guidance and next steps.

2. Non-Members:

• Student Level: Beginner to intermediate practitioners outside the IWTA are welcome to apply for student-level training. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by qualified IWTA instructors, and the IWTA reserves the right to accept or decline service at our sole discretion.

• Career/Experienced Wing Tsun instructors: The IWTA across all schools maintains a strict policy against offering casual, drop-in, or advanced instruction to non-member experienced Wing Tsun/Ving Tsun/Wing Chun practitioners, active commercial school owners, or independent professional instructors. Any experienced practitioner seeking training or credential recognition from the IWTA must first apply to join our authorised network. Exceptions to this rule are granted in rare cases, subject to authorisation from HK Headquarters. We appreciate the cooperation of all IWTA members in upholding the authenticity, quality, and integrity of our system. For any inquiries regarding the Visitor Training Policy please contact us at iwtahk@gmail.com.
